From SJSharks.com: "The San Jose Sharks and Seagate, the world leader in storage solutions, will unveil “BlackArmor”, the Sharks RbK third jersey for 2008-09, right here on wSJSHARKS.com on Friday, November 21 at 10:00 a.m. announced Malcolm Bordelon, Executive Vice President of Business Operations for the Sharks, and Bill Watkins, CEO of Seagate Technology.

SJSHARKS.com will feature a countdown to the debut for 30 days and fans can pre-order their “BlackArmor” online or at the Sharks Store. The Sharks will wear their “BlackArmor” for the first time against Washington on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at HP Pavilion. “BlackArmor” will be worn during the following 14 games, which include 12 home dates, during the season:

Jan. 16 vs. Calgary April 9 vs. Phoenix

This marks the 12th season that the Sharks and Seagate have been partners. The presenting sponsorship of the “BlackArmor” nights will increase the company’s involvement with the team, which already includes the Seagate “Sharks Player of the Month” and the Seagate “Sharks Player of the Year”.

The branding of the alternate sweater coincides with Seagate’s promotion of its BlackArmor™ product, the world’s first safe portable hard drive. I have a feeling that since they are nicknaming the 3rd Jersey, "BlackArmor", that could only mean the Jersey will have the Shield w/the Full Body Shark that most people (Not Me) hate...

I like the Shark fin logo the best, but I don't think it would look good as the main logo on a sweater.

That's the Shark I thought you were talking about. The shield is just hideous. What's that thing on top, a rising sun? Makes me think of the Arizona Cardinals. Didn't they have a similar look to a shoulder emblem or something? Or maybe it was the Coyotes, I honestly don't remember... Either way, it was a desert team. It makes no sense.

The shield could be a shoulder emblem. I wouldn't mind that as much. That being said, the shark logo itself wouldn't look very good on a black jersey, I don't think. The "BlackArmor" needs to have as little orange as possible, though. Black and orange are Halloween and tigers colors. Keep them that way.

The rising sun thing is the City of San Jose's logo.

According to the 09-09 Key Dates on those mini schedules, Nov 26. is Seagate BlackArmor T-Shirt Night. Any idea whats happening on that date?

btw, according to the sharks' schedule, the january 15th game against colorado doesn't exist. the one listed in this article for the 16th against calgary is actually on the 15th, unless they've changed the schedule and didn't bother to update it on the site.

Just slap the current logo on the front and teal and white stripes on the arms. I dislike the full body shark because its tail is too horizontal and sharks don't bend that way.

I'm really looking forward to this jersey, because I'm not a huge fan of the orange on the current ones. I'm still gunna buy one.. but if that sheild is on it, I will be CRUSHED.. and gutted.. That thing is rank. But I'll buy one nonetheless. I will have my fingers crossed until then. Roll on November.
